Chapter 10: Coastal South

Like the coastal south, California's climate and temperature is ideal for citrus farms. A few miles away from Thaitown, downtown Los Angeles was the site for the state's first commercial citrus farm. During the gold rush in 1849 citrus was in huge demand to gold miners to help fight off scurvy and vitamin C deficiency (Lee 2010).

Disneyland
California is also home to many theme park attractions. Many famous theme parks in Florida also exist in California. Places such as Disneyland, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Six Flags.
